STARNES QUARTER HORSES

Jay and Kristy Starnes grew up on horses, so it is no surprise that both of them became professional horse trainers at a very young age. Jay is the first rider to earn over $1,000,000 in strictly western pleasure earnings (2013) and Kristy has earned over $250,000 as of 2015.

Once they entered the leagues of professional training Jay & Kristy have helped shape the careers of such horses as VS Flatline, Strutin On The Range, Its Best To Be Hot, A Certain Illusion, VS Check My Pulse, The Lopin Machine, A Lazy Holiday, I Like Hot Chips, Hot Lopin Louise, Zippn Hot Machine, Juan Hot Chip, Won Lopin RV Machine, Won Good RV Machine, Hot Lopin Goodbar, Flashy Looking Lady, Rode Rageous , Hot Lopin Machine, Only Rave Reviews, Al I Want Is You, Ms Machine, Bring Me The Heat & Cowboys R Hot.

In December 2005, Jay & Kristy moved to their current location on over 50 acres in Manning, South Carolina. The entire facility, which was originally cattle pastures, was designed and built by the Starnes’ to meet the specific needs of a state of the art training facility. The farm boasts a 24 stall heated show barn with two heated wash racks, tack room, multiple storage rooms and office. Mare facilities include 7 stall mare barn with 4 large, video monitored foaling stalls and individual turn out. Several large pastures with run-in sheds, two turn-out lots for show horses, hay & horse trailer storage shed, covered 6 horse Priefert Horse Walker & covered 60’ round pen and 120’ x 200’ riding arena are some of the many amenities available. In addition, the entire facility is monitored by ASI Surveillance Systems.

Jay & Kristy have come a long way from their beginnings at local open horse shows and backyard riding. With the help of their clients, friends and family they hope to go even farther. The Starnes’ welcomed their first child, Logan Ryan Starnes in January 2010. And if history repeats itself as they say, this little cowboy has a bright future ahead of himself!
